I am delighted to announce that my graduation pinhole photography project ‘Wonderland’ was one of 12 student graduation artworks from all Scottish universities, selected by The Society of Scottish Artists for their 125th Annual Exhibition which will be held at The Maclaurin Art Gallery in Ayr, 19 November 2023 – 14 January 2024.
My project is based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and explores the possibilities of lensless film photography (camera obscura or pinhole) using long exposure and double exposure to show the diversity, variability, beauty and sometimes a paradox of the surrounding world.
All these photos were taken with cameras made by me. Instead of lenses, my pinhole cameras have tiny 0.2 mm apertures (pinholes), through which light enters the film, creating an imprint of reality, transformed according to my intention.
